Day 13

Mon. May 8

  • Talk about endings

  • Share “I Remembers”

Homework

➤ Fill out your course evaluation

You should have received an email with a link for filling out course evaluations—please don’t forget to do this! Just as you need your teachers’ feedback on your work, they need your feedback on their work.

Please note: If you want to give me meaningful feedback about this course, I’d appreciate it if you took the time to do it in words—a brief paragraph, or even just a few sentences. I don’t really look at the numbers at all. I do, however, read students’ written comments very carefully.

➤ Keep working on your final project

Continue to work on the essay you’ve chosen. If you want feedback on a draft, message me to make an appointment.

Please note I am not usually available for appointments on weekends, so please plan your time accordingly.

➤ READ POEMS

Read your classmates’ poems based on their “postcards from the present.” Pick one you that you think creates tension or one where you particularly like the final line and come ready to tell us why.

➤ Be ready to read “I Remembers” (if you want)

Next class, I’ll ask for a few volunteers to read their I Remembers. If you’d like to volunteer, be ready to read!

➤ Finally, think about this question:

If you enjoy literary writing (creative writing) and want to keep doing it, how can you make sure that it stays a part of your life?

Be ready to share your thoughts next class.
